Meet our Mahogany Clams, a true Maine favorite harvested from the cold, deep waters off the coast.
Mahoganies are harvested in Jonesport, ME. Reminiscent of other hard shell clams such as quahogs, Mahogany Clams get their name from their beautiful, deep toned shells. When it comes to flavor, they’re right in the New England hardshell family, with a slightly more pronounced salinity with a vegetal finish that gives them their own unique taste.
Fun fact: Mahogany Clams are incredibly long lived! Some can reach 30 years of age, which is pretty remarkable for a little clam.
