the Grower

I received my start in Shellfish Aquaculture by taking care of the shellfish nursery with the Department of Natural Resources for their recreational shellfish program. We were able to re-institute a recreational oyster season for the first time in 35 years!

Being an oyster grower is a true privilege, which I love immensely. There are many and constant challenges, but when I look at the final product there is a certain inexplicable proudness that is our true reward. A sustainable delicious food product which helps keep our waters pristine... What's not to love!
