Shamrock Shooter Oyster

Brunswick, ME
Shamrock Shooters are grown in Maquoit Bay, where minimal freshwater influence gives them a pleasantly salty flavor with a balanced brine. Bottom cultured and wild in appearance, they often carry a natural green tint from their surroundings, making them a perfect oyster for St. Patrick’s Day!

the Grower

Mere Point Oyster Company is a family owned oyster farm in Brunswick, Maine. In 2014, Dan Devereaux approached Doug Niven about growing oysters off his dock, hoping to create a business rooted in the waters they grew up on. Their goal was simple: give their sons a chance to grow up loving the Maine coast and have the opportunity to make a living in Brunswick.

Today, Mere Point is truly a family operation, employing both Doug and Dan’s sons along with up to 20 local workers.
