the Grower

Sapidus Farms was founded by Michael Manyak during his summers off from teaching high school social studies, starting as a true one man, one truck operation. As the vision grew, Mike partnered with his wife, Angelina, to scale the business into the family run hatchery and grow-out operation it is today on the Great Wicomico River. The farm now raises millions of oysters across more than 66 acres of pristine water. Using sustainable off-bottom farming practices, Sapidus Farms filters billions of gallons of water each week, supporting the long term health of the Chesapeake Bay.
