Paine's Creek Oyster

Brewster, MA
Paine's Creek Oysters are lovely cocktail oysters with a signature Cape flavor: briny, sweet, and clean. What makes them unique compared to other Cape Cod oysters, though, is their freshwater influence from Paine's Creek, the creek that runs through the farm which the oysters are named after. This freshwater influence gives the oysters an added flavor element that can be detected past the brine.

the Grower

Over the last 10 years, Paul Werzanski and his sons have been growing oysters just 1,200 feet off the beaches of Brewster. His love for seafood was inspired by his father, who also was an avid fisherman. Paul's family has been on the Cape since the 1940's, and he and his sons all have commercial fishing licenses.

Growing oysters is a hobby for the Werzanskis -- Paul and his sons all have day jobs, but they love being on the water. "It's so peaceful at 5:30 a.m.," Paul says."I've traveled a lot and have tried many oysters, but no other oyster can compare to a Cape oyster. We enjoy working together, it's truly a family farm."
