Growout Method

Wild spat is caught in spat collectors. The oysters then grow out in OysterGro floating cages to maturity. Bags are flipped, rotated, and maintained regularly to remove any fouling. Cages are sunk below the ice during winter. Once oysters are market-ready, they are moved to a saltwater well wet storage system kept at 8° C. Time to market: 2 to 3 years.
